Fairworld Film Club – March 2016From 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm
March’s Film club will take place on Saturday 19th March when we’ll be showing ‘Suffragette’ (Cert 12).
A drama that tells the story of Maud (played by Carey Mulligan), one of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement – women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State. These women were not primarily from the genteel educated classes, they were working women who had seen peaceful protest achieve nothing. Radicalized and turning to violence as the only route to change, they were willing to lose everything in their fight for equality – their jobs, their homes, their children and their lives.
Doors will open at Guisborough Methodist Church at 6:30pm and the film will start at 7.00pm. There will be drinks and snacks available or feel free to bring your own.
There’s no charge for the evening.
